Thanks for the website been looking for the info for a while. I want to invest in a multipurpose machine or tools for cutting and polishing gems from diamonds to emeralds to aquamarine. At this stage I am willing to stretch my budget depending on the machine. Your advice would be highly appreciated. have a great new 2011

hi,i'm nirmala i am a gem collector and i have collected some gemstones and mineral specimens..i have purchased a gem tester presidium..was wondering about its accuracy.can it distinguish topaz and citrine..i have a good golden yellow specimen with orange tones and with mild inclusions and i have cut a few pieces and they have a specific gravity higherr than golden beryl..and my tester shows a topaz reading..can it be possible and how do i distinguish from citrine...thanx

How do I go about getting an appraisal done for a couple of older pieces I have, which are in need of minor repairs? The stones are topaz and they are set in gold.
